essay - TOEFL7

Question:
How do movies or television influence people's behavior? Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer.

Answer:
Movies and television programs have a huge impact on the lives of contemporary human beings. Especially, I think news and dramas have influenced modern society with a drastic way.

If there's no television, people can see only what they can see actually around them. People don't need to be careful about the ups and downs of the stock market, or don't need to be frustrated with murders and tragic affairs. People can live with only matters that occur actually around them.

On the other hand, if there's television, people can know about things that happened in the country where they will never be able to go. They can see great things and great achievements that other people perform. Knowing has a good aspect, needless to say.

I often watch overseas drama, in which people laugh or get angry or make great harmony with their friends. People can feel such kind of feelings when seeing dramas on TV. Drama or movie can make people happy and their lives fruitful.

Therefore, as my conclusion, I support that television has brought beneficial aspects to human beings in contemporary society, rather than unfavorable impacts.
